Hiking and biking routes to suit everyone’s taste

The area offers a wide range of cycling routes thanks to the Monte Baldo (2,218 m), which rises just behind Malcesine. For true bike enthusiasts, there are more mountain bike routes in addition to the Malcesine cycle path.

Prefer a nice walk or a hike? There are various trekking and Nordic walking options.

The cable car will take you comfortably up the mountain.

The Prada plateau is a marvellous panoramic view point. Its name is derived from the surrounding meadows and pastures of this area. You can experience this wonderful round tour both on foot or by racing bike. It is truly a sight not to be missed, so make sure you add it to your to-do list.

Monte Altissimo

This route leads you to the most gorgeous panoramic point by far, but it is good to mention that this is a bike excursion for advanced mountain bikers. Those who prefer to take it easy can cover the route by e-bike. All hiking enthusiasts can look forward to a beautiful 3.5 hour hike from the Malcesine mountain station.

Monte Baldo is the perfect starting point for various tours. There are varying degrees of difficulty you can choose from: You can find easy and leisurely hiking trails, as well as challenging trekking routes here. There are also countless great mountain bike routes you can explore here. 

All’eremo di San Benigno e Caro

All’eremo di San Benigno e Caro

The route (about 15 km) is long and demanding, but it also rewards sports enthusiasts and leisurely walkers alike with beautiful and varied passages. Discovering this path is like taking a walk through history, it will almost feel meditative. The path starts from Malcesine and goes up to the hermitage of San Benigno and Caro.

The "Balot tacà via" is only 3 km away from the Val di Sogno®. It is a route that you definitely should not miss. Follow the dry river bed in Val Torrente until you reach the "hanging boulder" wedged between two high rock walls. This hike is in the midst of an impressive landscape and is suitable for everyone.

Busatte-Tempesta Trail

Busatte-Tempesta Trail

A peaceful itinerary with minimal altitude gain that winds along the eastern shore of the Trentino Garda, joining the town of Busatte, near Torbole, to Tempesta with a journey time of about two hours and 400 steps.

On this splendid nature trail, with steel stairs fixed directly to the rock and unpaved sections, overlooking the lake, you will enjoy a fantastic view and discover interesting information on the local flora and fauna thanks to explanatory signposts.

Torri del Benaco Tibetan bridge

Since 2019, an extraordinary experience has been offered:  a suspension bridge at a height of 40 m near Torri del Benaco, where a grandiose panorama of the lake opens up. It can be reached with an easy excursion – even by bike – starting from the village of Crero, about 15 km from Val di Sogno®. You can opt to continue up to Pai and then to San Zeno di Montagna for a round trip.

The thrill terrace in Tremosine

This is one of the most famous viewpoints in the Garda area. From a platform suspended over 350 m in height, you can admire all the splendour of the lake, Monte Baldo on the opposite bank and the hairpin turns of Strada della Forra, the setting of a James Bond film. and according to Winston Churchill, one of the wonders of the world. To go up on foot, start from Limone, another jewel of Lake Garda on the Brescia shore up to Tremosine, known as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
