Where is the hotel?

The Val di Sogno® is located on the northeast coast of Lake Garda, in the district of Verona, 2 km south from Malcesine (Zip Code 37018). It is not on the Gardesana Orientale, the main road that runs along the entire lake, but it is located directly on the shore in Via Val di Sogno 16.

From North – The Brennero A22 motorway: exit Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord, follow the SS240 road in direction of Lake Garda until Torbole, then proceed on the SS249 road to Malcesine, continue for 2 km until reaching Val di Sogno; at the roundabout, on the left side of the Despar supermarket, turn into Via Val di Sogno and continue for about 300 m until you reach the hotel entrance on the left (second gate in Corten steel).

From East or West – The motorway A4 (Milan-Venice) to Verona, take the junction for the A22 Brennero motorway: exit Affi/Lago di Garda Sud, head towards Lake Garda: drive on the SP9 road up to Costermano, then take the SP8 road to Garda, continue on the SS249 road (Gardesana Orientale) for about 20 km until Cassone, proceed 2 km more and you are in Val di Sogno. How do I reach the Val di Sogno® by plane?

From Villafranca - Verona airport Valerio Catullo direct transfer to the hotel by taxi or shuttle bus.

 

From other airports, direct transfer to the hotel by taxi or train to Verona centre - Porta Nuova or Peschiera del Garda station; from there by taxi or bus to the Val di Sogno stop, about 350 m from the hotel entrance. 

How do I reach the Val di Sogno® by train?

From North - stopping at the railway station of Rovereto (35 km).
From South-East-West - stopping at the railway station of Peschiera del Garda or Verona centre (45 km). - Porta Nuova (65 km).

How do I reach the Val di Sogno® by bus?

Take line 483 or 484 of ATV Verona public transportation. The stop is Val di Sogno, about 350 m from the hotel entrance.

Is there a transfer from the airport and/or train station?

YES ✔ From and to the Villafranca - Verona airport Valerio Catullo there is public bus to the Val di Sogno bus stop, about 350 m from the hotel entrance or by local taxi or hotel transfer service (by reservation and for a fee). This service is also available for other airports or train stations. From the railway stations of Rovereto, Peschiera del Garda and Verona centre - Porta Nuova there is a public bus line or private transfer.

The hotel transfer service must be booked at least 3 working days prior to arrival/departure for organizational reasons. The costs vary depending on the route, the number of people and the point of departure.

How far is the town centre?

Val di Sogno® is situated 2 km south from the historical centre of Malcesine, reachable by a lovely walk along the lake about 20-25 minutes following the pedestrian path Val di Sogno-Lido Sopri-Lungolago-via Roma and illuminated in the evening/night hours.

In Malcesine there are also 3 parking areas available for a fee in case you want to go with your car.

What is there to do in the area?

The Val di Sogno® is located in the northeast of Lake Garda, 2 km south from Malcesine, where the cable car takes you to the top of Monte Baldo. 
The hotel is an excellent starting point for excursions to discover wonderful places and to enjoy exceptional experiences. You will be spoilt for choice, from visits to fishing villages, vineyards, lemon groves, olive groves to ancient castles and sumptuous villas. Then there are boat excursions, food and wine tours, cultural tours and the possibility to practice sports activities both on land and on the lake. 

For moments of pure fun, we also recommend the theme parks of Gardaland, Caneva World, Movieland and Jungle Adventure Park.
In Malcesine, you should not miss a visit to the Scaliger Castle, the Captain’s Palace and the parish church of S. Stefano. Finally, in the immediate surroundings, we recommend discovering Navene and Cassone, which houses the Fishing Museum and the Aril, the shortest river in Europe, and stopping at the Hermitage of San Benigno and Caro.

What do you do to prevent COVID-19?

At the Val di Sogno® we follow a specific protocol called Secure Clean Hotel for the protection of the health of the people in the hotel (both customers and staff). You can find more information here.

Is there a beach? Is it private?

YES ✔ The Val di Sogno® is situated directly on the lake shore. No roads in between, just a few steps adjoining the terrace and hotel outdoor area and you are already at the beach. In the township of Malcesine beaches are public property, so there is no private beach. 
Please note that the beach on the lakeshore is made of pebbles, not sand.

Is there Wi-Fi?

YES ✔ All rooms and public areas of the Val di Sogno® are equipped with a free Wi-Fi internet connection. To access you need a password available at reception.

Is there a possibility to recharge electric cars?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® there is the possibility of charging your electric car with a type 2 e-charger (€20 per attachment)

Are dogs or other pets allowed?

NO ✘ Pets are not accepted at the Val di Sogno®.

Are credit cards accepted?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® we accept Visa and MasterCard. Of course, we also accept cash in €uro (as defined by law) as well as debit cards. We do not accept cheques, foreign currencies or other credit cards.

Is there lake view?

YES ✔ All rooms, junior suites and suites of Val di Sogno® are positioned towards the lake and have a balcony furnished with chairs and a table so you can admire the view in blissful privacy.

Is there parking place?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® there is one free parking place per room available, located in the parking area within the structure. There is also a garage with a designated spot for your own sports equipment such as mountain bikes, e-bicycles, etc. The service is free of charge. No reservatons necessary.

Is there a restaurant?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® we do not have a traditional restaurant.  
However, we take care of our guests and have expanded the basic formula of the B&B with a “light pleasures” menu to enjoy at the Val di Sogno® Bistrot, available every day from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. We use fresh ingredients for simple and genuine dishes that celebrate the Italian and local culinary tradition, perfect if you are craving a simple bite during the day while you are in the hotel.

Is there a bar?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® there is a cocktail bar & lounge with terrace and lake view. It is open from 12 noon to 11 pm exclusively for guests of the hotel. Family members, friends and / or acquaintances are welcome with prior authorization from the reception staff with approval by the management. This is to ensure peace and privacy for our guests.

Until september 18 the pool bar is open from 11 am 30 to 6 pm, to cool off by the pool (for a fee).

Is there a spa?

YES ✔ Exclusively for hotel guests, we provide the wellness “Piccolo Sogno” area with Finnish sauna, steam bath, experiential showers, ice waterfall, cold stream and the heated relaxation area with comfortable chaise lounge and evocative salt wall, as well as direct view of the lake, here always at your side. A little dream world just for you.

 

To ensure correct cleaning and sanitation according to the Covid-19 virus prevention protocols, access is personal (private spa), therefore only by reservation and subject to availability for a maximum of 3 hours of use and for a fee (€ 80 for 2 people).
There are no massages or beauty treatments of any kind. 

Opening hours: from 11 am to 2 pm, or from 3 pm to 6 pm, or from 7 pm to 10 pm.

Do you offer yoga classes?

YES ✔ Individual lessons are available upon request at a cost of 50 € per person.


Beneficial to combat stress and daily anxieties, yoga helps us to regain our psycho/physical balance. Harmoniously combining  mind and body is the main goal of this discipline.
The lesson begins with concentration on breathing (deeply and slowly), then we move on to the more "physical" practice with asanas and vinyasana (postures and sequences of postures) followed by a variety of pranayamas (prana = vital energy; yama = control and ayama = expansion). The lesson concludes with the practice of yoga nidra (final guided relaxation).

 

 

Is there a pool? Is there a whirlpool?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® there is an outdoor swimming pool (depth 1.30 m, width 7 m and length 12 m) with Whirlpool. The service is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and is free. 
The swimming pool, heated in the colder months (up to 24-26 °), is open from 8.00 to 19.00. During the remaining hours the pool will be covered to ensure the heating of the water temperature.
We do not have an indoor swimming pool, nor whirlpool on the terraces or in the rooms.

Is there an elevator?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® there are 2 elevators, a small central one and a larger one. The latter is sufficiently spacious for the transport of people with wheelchairs. 

Is there a gym?

YES ✔ At Val di Sogno® we do have a small but well-equipped gym with view on the lake. The access is free and allowed from 7:30 am until 10 pm.

Can I smoke inside the hotel?

NO ✘ At Val di Sogno® all common areas, rooms, junior suites and suites are strictly "no smoking". It is requested not to smoke in the room, in the corridors and in the common areas (including the terrace during breakfast time) as per current Italian regulations. Smokers can use the balcony and outdoor areas, taking care not to disturb other guests.

Are you equipped for children?

NO ✘ We love children and their spontaneous verve, but we are aware that in an environment like ours, where there is peace and quiet, they would not be comfortable. For this reason, in 2020 we decided to become an Adults Only hotel and therefore we are not able to meet the demands of families with infants, children and/or young people under the age of 16.

Are there single rooms?

NO ✘ At the Val di Sogno® there are no single rooms, only double rooms that we gladly offer for single use (reduction of € 20 per day).

Can the rooms accommodate three people?

NO ✘ Our rooms, junior suites and suites are all designed for a maximum of two people.

Treatments
When is breakfast time?

Breakfast is served from 7 am to 11 am.

Is it possible to have breakfast outside/on the terrace?

YES ✔ Although breakfast is prepared indoors for organizational and hygienic reasons, you can use part of the terrace for breakfast if the weather permits.

Is there half board or full board?

NO ✘ At Val di Sogno® there is no half board or full board service.
The hotel offers only the B&B plan (bed and breakfast). However, the Val di Sogno® Bistrot is at our guests' disposal with a simple and appetizing à la carte menu, available every day from 12:30 to 8 pm.

Check-in & Check-out
What time is check-in?

The rooms are available to guests from 3 pm.
If you arrive earlier and the room is ready, you can check-in earlier than the established time. Otherwise, you can leave you luggage with us, complete the required formalities and use the common areas of the hotel while waiting for your room to be cleaned and sanitized correctly, according to our company protocol.

What happens if I arrive late?

The reception desk is open until 10 pm, after which the night porter will welcome you. 
Simply leave the required documents to complete the check-in formalities and collect your room access card. The hotel gates are usually closed around midnight, but both the street and pedestrian gates have a bell. 
In case you plan to arrive after 6 pm, we kindly ask you to advise us by calling the number (+39) 045 7400108.

What time is check out?

From 7:30 to 11 am, the reception staff is available for you to settle your bill. The tourist tax is to be paid on the day of departure at the same time as check-out.
In case of an early departure before the times listed above, we kindly ask you to pay the previous evening, preferably by 9 pm and to notify the reception staff as soon as possible. In this way, the night porter will be ready to open the gates at the time you wish and you can depart without worries.

Is it possible to have a late check-out?

NO ✘ At the moment, this option is not offered. Check out time is by 11 am on the day of departure. Please note that the determination of both check-in and check-out times serves to ensure the correct cleaning and sanitizing protocols for each hotel room.

Do I have to pay a deposit to make a reservation?

YES ✔ In order to confirm a reservation at Val di Sogno®, a deposit of 30% of the cost of your reservation is required by bank transfer. Below our coordinates:

In case there is not time for a transfer, the deposit will be required by immediate charge on the credit card provided. In this case only Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
For online bookings from the site, the payment is made by direct debit from the credit card, via Nexi XPay. In case of failure, after 30 minutes, the reservation will be automaticy cancelled by the system.

In case of late arrival or early departure, what happens?

In case of late arrival or early departure please inform the office by phone (+39) 045 74 00 108 or e-mail info@hotelvaldisogno.com 
However, the cost of the entire stay will be charged.

How do I change my booking?

Just contact the booking office manager to find the best solution. From April to October, when the hotel is usually open, you can call (+39) 045 74 00 108 between 8:30 am and 6 pm. 
During the closing period of the hotel (November-March), we mainly reply by e-mail so write to info@hotelvaldisogno.com

If I cancel my reservation, do I have to pay a penalty?

In the unfortunate instance in which you have to cancel your reservation at Val di Sogno®, please send a written confirmation to info@hotelvaldisogno.com

During the hotel opening months (from April to October) you can also call (+39) 045 74 00 108.
The specific cancellation conditions are attached to each direct booking confirmation; We therefore invite you to read them to find out when and if the payment of a penalty is required and how much this amounts to.

What is your cancellation policy?

Here are the details of the general cancellation terms applied for the 2023 season that you will find in all our direct offers and booking confirmations.

 

For stays with arrival in April, May and October 2023 the following cancellation policy will apply:

  • Up to 15 days before arrival date: free cancellation.
  • From 14 to 7 days before arrival date: penalty of 50% of the cost of the booked stay.
  • In the 6 days prior to the arrival date and in case of cancellation on the day of arrival, no-show, late arrival or early departure, payment of the full cost of the stay is requested for each room booked. The period of stay can be changed free of charge up to 15 days before arrival.

 

 

For stays arriving in June, July, August and September 2023, the following cancellation policy will apply:

  • Up to 31 days before arrival date: free cancellation.
  • From 30 to 15 days before arrival date: penalty of 30% of the cost of the booked stay.
  • From 14 to 7 days before arrival date: penalty of 50% of the cost of the booked stay.
  • In the 6 days prior to arrival date and in case of cancellation on the day of arrival, no-show, late arrival or early departure, payment of the full cost of the stay is requested for each room booked. The period of stay can be changed free of charge up to 31 days before arrival.

 

 

We will refund the deposit paid at the time of booking; also prepayments are refundable by bank transfer, net of 35 euros  for management costs.

Non-refundable reservations and special offers are, as the name implies, in all cases non-refundable. Therefore, for each cancelled room, no refunds will be made.

 

Reservations made through portals (e.g. Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com) or third parties (travel agencies, tour operators, etc.) have a specific cancellation policy, which differs from the one reported above. For these reservations, only what is stated on the reservation confirmation in your possession is valid.
