Hikes around Lake Garda

Discover the country step by step

Val di Sogno® is the starting point for hikes and relaxed Nordic walking routes.

It's a place you can go and enjoy an ice cream while sitting on a bench. Here, you can slow down and rediscover the beauty of simple things on different paths.

Navene - Malcesine

Navene - Malcesine

There is an easy and beautiful cycle and pedestrian path just north of Malcesine, most of which runs just a few meters from the lake and offers an amazing landscape spectacle. From the lovely fishing village of Navene you pass the sailing club and come to the paragliding area. The ferry to Limone leaves from here. The closer you get to Malcesine, the more you will see the magnificent silhouette of the Scaliger Castle come into view in the background.

Madonna dell’Accoglienza

Madonna dell’Accoglienza

An easy and very picturesque route, surrounded by endless olive groves and a breathtaking panorama. This area is known for the production of particularly high quality olive oil (DOP). This path also takes you to San Michele, where the middle station of the Malcesine-Monte Baldo cable car is located. You can hike uphill or downhill from here, as you like. You cross the panoramic road to Val di Sogno, but also pass the statue of Madonna dell’Accoglienza, which spreads its arms out to hikers.

Limone - Riva

Limone - Riva

The panoramic bike route, inaugurated in 2018, is the first bike route with a view of the lake. Here, you can cycle comfortably and effortlessly while you enjoy the view of Malcesine from the other side of the shore.

Bardolino - Lazise

Bardolino - Lazise

The walking path is approx. 5 km long and connects the two historical villages of Bardolino and Lazise. You can listen to the sound of the water, the rustling of the trees and the chirping of the birds while leisurely strolling along. The path runs by the lake and opens up colourful views of both the landscape and the romantic alleys of the picturesque villages.

Val di Sogno-Torri del Benaco

Val di Sogno-Torri del Benaco

The 19 km long lake promenade, which leads from the Val di Sogno bay towards the elegant town of Torri del Benaco, offers various must-see sights. The first stop is Cassone, with its charming little port, a fishing museum and the world’s shortest river: The Arìl is only 175 m long! Then, you will come across the beaches and piers of the villages of Brenzone and Pai, with their characteristic historical centre between the olive trees. Finally there is Torri del Benaco, with the Scaliger Castle and museum.

Busatte-Tempesta Trail

Busatte-Tempesta Trail

A peaceful itinerary with minimal altitude gain that winds along the eastern shore of the Trentino Garda, joining the town of Busatte, near Torbole, to Tempesta with a journey time of about two hours and 400 steps.

On this splendid nature trail, with steel stairs fixed directly to the rock and unpaved sections, overlooking the lake, you will enjoy a fantastic view and discover interesting information on the local flora and fauna thanks to explanatory signposts.

 Torri del Benaco Tibetan bridge

Torri del Benaco Tibetan bridge

Since 2019, an extraordinary experience has been offered:  a suspension bridge at a height of 40 m near Torri del Benaco, where a grandiose panorama of the lake opens up. It can be reached with an easy excursion – even by bike – starting from the village of Crero, about 15 km from Val di Sogno®. You can opt to continue up to Pai and then to San Zeno di Montagna for a round trip.
