WHERE IS SITUATED THE HOTEL?

Hotel Val di Sogno is settled in the quite "Val di Sogno" creek, just 2 km south from the town centre of Malcesine, a small village at the slopes of Monte Baldo (south Dolomite's mountain chain) on the Northern-Easter coast of Lake Garda (District of Verona, Region Veneto - Italy).
The building is not on the main road, but in Via Val di Sogno 16 directly on the lake shore.

HOW DO WE REACH YOU?

By car (we do have free parking place), by plane, by train and bus, even by ferry boat until Malcesine town centre, you can arrive in yours most convenient way.
The nearest airports are Verona, Brescia, Bergamo/Milano, Treviso, Venice.
The nearest railway stations are Rovereto (north) Peschiera (south-west) and Verona Porta Nuova (south east).
 

DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSFER FROM AIRPORT AND/OR FROM RAILWAY STATION?

Yes, we do organize transfer service from the main airports and railway stations by private taxi or shuttle bus.
The shuttle bus (to be confirmed yearly every March as organized by the Hotel Association) is available only for Verona, Brescia and Bergamo airports and leaves you at the nearest bus stop on the main road about 200 meters far from hotel entrance.
Private taxi transfer can be arranged as well with local Taxi Association.

IS THE HOTEL SITUATED IN A QUIET POSITION?

Yes, the hotel is not on the main road but on the lake shore, in the quiet Bay of Val di Sogno, 2 km south from Malcesine town centre.
 

HOW FAR IS THE HOTEL FROM THE TOWN CENTRE?

The hotel is approximately 2 km south from the historical town centre of Malcesine, reachable with a lovely walk (promenade from Val di Sogno passing Lido Sopri and going ahead on the path until Via Roma - main centre road - approximately 20-25 minutes walking time); with the Tourist Minibus provided by the Township of Malcesine (running every day from 8.00 am until midnight with an afternoon break, low season until 10.00 pm); with the public bus (daily running) or car (5 minutes approximately - there are 3 parking places available into town).
 

HOW FAR IS THE HOTEL FROM THE BEACH? IS THE BEACH PRIVATE?

You need to walk just a few steps from the hotel gardens to reach the beach, which is public in the Township of Malcesine.
Please be aware it is not sandy, but pebbled.
Therefore we do not have a private beach, but we do have instead a private garden area with sun chairs and sun-umbrellas (no transport to the beach possible).
 

IS THERE WI-FI IN THE ROOM?

WI-FI is available in every room, as in the hotel areas (terrace and garden as well).
The connection is quite slow but possible. You need a password available after check-in from Reception staff.
 

DO YOU ACCEPT PETS?

No, we do not accept dogs, pets or animals in general in the hotel.
Neither into the Restaurant.
 

DO THE ROOMS HAVE BALCONY? AN LAKE VIEW?

Yes, all rooms in our hotel have balcony towards the lake, therefore with lake view.
Depending on room category (link http://www.hotelvaldisogno.com/rooms-suite) you can have front lake view or partial lake view, but from all balconies you can see the lake.
There are no room facing the street.
 

DO YOU PROVIDE PARKING PLACE?

Yes, we have free parking place at guest's disposal and a garage with 10 parking spaces (not bookable). In the garage you can put also your sport equipment such as mountain bikes, surf boards etc.
There is no additional cost for this service.
 

IS THERE A RESTAURANT INSIDE THE HOTEL?

Yes, we do have a restaurant à la Carte.
Already renewed in 2016 for lunch service and open also for non-residents from 12.15 until 2.00 pm (last order taken), from 2017 it will be open also for dinner.
Details for the dinner will be available from March 2017.
 

IS THERE A BAR INSIDE THE HOTEL?

Yes, we do have bar service open from 10.00 am unit 11.00 pm (no drinks will be served later due to law restrictions).
In low season it might close already at 10.30 pm.
Non-residents are welcome until 6.00 pm, after it becomes exclusively for hotel guests.
 

IS THERE A SPA?

No, we do not have a SPA with massages or beauty treatments.
We have a convention with the Dahlila Beauty Centre just 200 meters far from the hotel.
NEW 2017 = EXCLUSIVE RELAX AREA. We are working for an exclusive relax area with sauna, emotional shower walk, relax zone with salt wall, small but well equipped gym. Details will be ready by April 2017.
 

DO YOU HAVE A SWIMMING POOL?

We do not have an indoor swimming pool, but an heated (24-26°C) outdoor pool.
The pool is 7 meters large x 12 meters long and 1,30 meters deep.
There is a Jacuzzi, too and a separate area large 2,5 meters x 4 meters long and 0,50 meters deep.
It is open from 10.00 am until 6.30 pm in low season and then covered to keep the water warm. In high season we open it from 8.00 am until 7.00 pm.
Of course it is free of charge and towels are provided.
 

DO YOU HAVE AN ELEVATOR?

Yes, our hotel has even two elevators; one is big enough for wheel-chairs or buggies.
 

IS THERE AIR-CONDITIONING?

Yes, all rooms as our dining room are air-conditioned.
It works as air-conditioner in the summer time and heater in spring and autumn.
The machine is central-controlled, but permits a range of temperatures programmed by Reception staff following health and safety directions and a protocol agreement for natural environment.
This service is free.
 

WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN?

Rooms are at disposal from 3.00 pm the day of arrival.
You can arrive earlier and do the check-in formalities, deposit your luggage and use the other hotel services until the room is ready. In case of arrivals later than 6.00 pm we kindly ask you to inform front desk calling +39.045.7400108.
 

WHAT TIME IS CHECK-OUT? WHEN DO I HAVE TO LEAVE THE ROOM?

On departure day we kindly ask you to free the room and settle the bill before 11.00 am. This to prepare the room for the next coming guests.
Late check-out can be asked not earlier that 24 hours prior departure and possible only due to availability and extra charge (minimum 50.- Euros).
You can use the other hotel facilities (e.g. parking place, swimming-pool, bar, restaurant, common shower & changing room etc.) for the rest of the day until your real departing time.

 

IS IT ALLOWED TO SMOKE?

No, in the rooms - as in all common/public areas - per Italian law, it is not allowed to smoke.
Smokers can use the balcony (every room is provided of one), the outside terrace and gardens and in case of bad weather the smoking room nearby Reception.
 

WHICH ROOM FACILITIES DO YOU OFFER?

Every room has a private bathroom (shower, wash basin, bidet and toilet - bath tub available only in two rooms category Elegance Superior and in the Suite) with hair-dryer, courtesy set (shampoo, bath gel, soap), tissue box, make-up mirror, towel for inside use; a bedroom with French beds (two single mattresses put together with double sheets and covered with two single duvets - on request also with blanket and bed sheet), bedside tables with night lamps, wardrobe with safety box, luggage stand, mirror, writing desk with light, chair, telephone, hotel information folder, TV with satellite, fridge (no mini-bar), air-condition machine, beach bag with slippers and towels for outside use.
On request we provide also bathrobes.
All rooms have balcony facing the lake with table and two chairs.
Sun-umbrella and lay-chairs are available only in the rooms category Splendid Front Lake, Splendid Plus, Junior Suite Panorama and Romantica and in the Suite Bellavista.
All rooms have WI-FI. It is slow but free of charge.
 

DO YOU HAVE DOUBLE OR TWIN BEDS?

All our rooms have French beds, that means two queen-size mattresses (90x200cm) covered by double sheet. It is therefore possible to have twin or separated beds with exception in the Junior Suites.
We usually cover the beds with 2 single duvets (as usual for us), but on request we can prepare the bed with double sheets and double blankets.
 

WHAT DO YOU SERVE FOR BREAKFAST? WHAT TIME IS IT?

We serve a continental breakfast in buffet form.
At disposal there are: American coffee, espresso, cappuccino or "latte macchiato", cold and hot milk (whole, skimmed and soya milk), hot chocolate, assortment of black, herbal or fruit teas, sparkling or still water; different types of bread rolls (also gluten free), bread loaves to be toasted at choice, croissant, patisserie, butter, marmalade and jams (even dietetic), Nutella (cream of nuts and chocolate to be spread), honey and Philadelphia (creamy cheese to be spread); cured meat cuts, cheese slices, fruit and vegetables, different types of cereals, yogurt, hard-boiled or scrambled eggs and lot more...
Breakfast is served from 7.30 until 10.00.
Earlier breakfast it not possible, but previous request before 6.00 pm the day in advance we can be arranged a packet breakfast to take away.
 

CAN I EAT OUTSIDE?

Yes, you can. We prepare and serve breakfast inside the dining room for health and hygiene reasons, but you can move on the terrace if you prefer s weather conditions permitting.
 

IS THERE ONLY B&B OR CAN I HAVE HALF OR FULL BOARD?
WHAT ARE THE MEAL TIMES?

From 2017 the hotel offers only B&B (bed and breakfast).
Therefore no half or full board available anymore.
We have modernized and re-styled our cuisine style with a complete new and young staff and decided for a different type of service.
The new restaurant will be open with an à la Carte Menu every day, therefore you can still have lunch and dinner in the hotel.
Buffet breakfast is served from 7.30 am until 10.00 am.
Lunch à la carte will be from 12.15 until 2.00 pm (last order taken). A selected light menu is available from 2.00 until 3.00 pm.
Afterwards pizza slice, toast, ice-creams and cakes are still at disposal until 6.00 pm.
Dinner à la carte will be served from 7.00 pm and reservation is requested at Front Desk by Reception. More details on this new service will be available by March 2017.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TO CANCELL MY RESERVATION?

Beneath your valid reasons for cancellation, please consider also ours for applying a fee.
Every booking confirmation has its own tailor-made cancellation policy clearly declared in the hotel confirmation booking form: this is the only valid for that booking and not for others.
There are a lot of different terms and conditions depending on room category, length of stay, days of release and many other factors therefore every cancellation policy is valid only for that precise reservation.

- Until 22 days before arrival date you are requested to pay an indemnity cost of 35.- Euro for each booked room.
- Between 21 until 14 days before arrival date you are requested to pay a cancellation fee equal to the cost of 70.- Euro per each booked room.
- Between 13 and 7 day before arrival date you have to pay the cost of the first night for each booked room.
- Between 6 and 1 day before arrival date you have to pay the cost of the first two nights for each booked room.
- On arrival day, no-show or in case of later arrival or earlier departure as booked, you have to pay the entire amount for each booked room.

4 to 6-nights-stay
- Until 22 days before arrival date you are requested to pay an indemnity cost of 50.- Euro for each booked room.
- Between 21 until 14 days before arrival date, you are requested to pay a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first night per each booked room.
- Between 13 and 7 day before arrival date, you have to pay the cost of the first two nights for each booked room.
